The role of "the third parties" in the political system of Great Britain and Australia

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce Role „třetích stran“ v politickém systému Velké Británie a Austrálie popisuje pozici Liberální strany a Liberální demokracie v britském stranickém systému a Agrární strany, později Národní strany v australském stranickém systému. Bakalářská práce vymezuje pojem „třetí strany“ a aplikuje tento termín na stranické systémy Velké Británie a Austrálie. Popisuje vznik a vývoj postavení porovnávaných politických stran se zaměřením na období od roku 1945 po současnost. Pozornost je věnována důležitým okamžikům ve vývoji „třetích stran“ - vzniku Liberální demokracie ve Velké Británii a přeměně Agrární strany na Národní stranu v Austrálii. Dále je charakterizována současná pozice obou stran a jejich perspektiva. Závěr tvoří srovnání vývoje postavení zkoumaných politických subjektů ve stranických systémech. Jejich volební výsledky jsou zpracovány v tabulkách, které tvoří přílohu práce.

Abstract:

The bachelor ´s work The role of „the third parties“ in the political system of Great Britain and Australia describes a position of the Liberal Party and the Liberal Democracy in the British party system and the Country Party, later the National Party in the Australian party system. The bachelor´s work defines the term „the third parties“ and applies it to the party system of Great Britain and Australia. It describes the formation and development of the position of the compared political parties with a view to the period since 1945 until the present. The attention is paid to the important moments during development of „the third parties“ – emergence of the Liberal Democracy in Great Britain and the conversion of the Country Party into the National Party in Australia. Further current position of both parties and their prospects are characterized. The conslusion contains the comparison of position development of surveyed political subjects in party systems. Their electoral results are recorded in tables which forms the amendment of the bachelor´s work.
