Learning Styles of Gifted Pupils at Primary School

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou nadaných žáků na základních školách a styly učení, které ve svém vzdělávacím procesu nadaní žáci používají. Diplomová práce se skládá z teoretické a praktické části. Úvodní teoretická část se zaměřuje na postupné vysvětlení základní terminologie související s pojmem učení v těsné návaznosti na nadané žáky, jako je např. teorie učení, paměť, lateralita mozkových hemisfér, inteligence, přístupy k učení atd. Praktická část přináší výsledky kvantitativního výzkumu, který byl realizován na třech základních školách v Brně ve spolupráci s vzorkem více než dvou set žáků. Vybraní žáci byli rozděleni do dvou skupin: nadaní žáci s oficiálně i neoficiálně diagnostikovaným nadáním a žáci průměrní. Výzkum byl proveden jako přímé porovnání stylů učení nadaných žáků se styly učení žáků průměrných.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with issues concerning gifted pupils at primary schools and learning styles they use in their educational process. The diploma thesis consists of two main parts: the theoretical and the practical. The introductory theoretical part is focused on gradual explaining the basic terminology related to the issues of learning in close connection to gifted pupils, such as theory of learning, memory, laterality of cerebral hemispheres, intelligence, approaches to learning etc. The practical part provides results of one quantitative survey which was carried out at three primary schools in Brno in cooperation with the sample of more than two hundred pupils. The pupils were divided into two groups: the gifted pupils with both officially and unofficially diagnosed talent and the average pupils. The survey was performed as a direct comparison of learning styles of the gifted pupils with learning styles of the average ones.
