Abstract:

This diploma thesis defines the importance of change and innovation management in InterContinental London Park Lane Hotel. The main purpose of this diploma thesis is to prove significance of change and innovation management in modern organisation and it’s impact on revenues and business profitability. First part of this thesis contains general definitions of change and innovation managements, types, strategies and key problems. Second part contains general characteristics of tourism industry in the UK and demand and competition overview. Our research provided us with key information on the number of visitors and hotels. We highlighted strong and weak sides of modern tourism in the UK. Third part of our paper consists of detailed information about InterContinental London Park Lane. We scrutinised performance of our hotel on the main travel agencies and came up with conclusions about neccesity of improvements and implementation of changes and innovation strategies.
