AMOK - Active Shooter Attacks

Abstract:

Diplomová práce je soustředěna na problematiku Amok situace, útoky aktivních střelců. První část je věnována teorii, základním pojmům zahrnující bezpečnost, v užším i širším pojetí, dále je zde věnována pozornost pojmu měkký cíl, samotnému pojmu Amok situace, pojmu aktivní střelec, teroristický útok, hrozba a riziko. V následujících částech práce je zmíněna historie útoků, spáchaných na našem území i v zahraničí. Téma bylo uchopeno i z hlediska oboru psychologie a souvisejících psychických problémech, které mohou vést ke spáchání útoku. Objeví se zde kapitoly popisující zbraně, které jsou při takovém typu útoku použity, kapitoly zahrnující prevenci, doporučený postup pro civilisty, taktické postupy policie, která čelí útoku zpravidla jako první, ale i postup dalších složek Integrovaného záchranného systému a dalších složek aktivně i pasivně podílejících se na opatřeních a zabývajících se touto problematikou. Praktická část diplomové práce bude vypracována pomocí kvantitativního výzkumu, které bude založené na dotazníkovém šetření mezi příslušníky Policie České republiky. Cílem tohoto dotazníkového šetření bude zjistit, jaké povědomí mají příslušníci Policie České republiky o problematice situace Amok a zjištění míry připravenosti příslušníků na situaci Amok a případné útoky aktivních střelců.

Abstract:

Abstract The thesis focuses on the issue of Amok situations and active shooter attacks. The first part is dedicated to theory, basic concepts related to security, in a narrow and broader sense, as well as the concept of a soft target, amok situation, active shooter, terrorist attack, threat, and risk. In the following sections, the thesis mention the history of attacks that have occurred on our territory and abroad. The topic is also approached from the perspective of psychology and related mental health problems that can lead to an attack. There are chapters describing the weapons used in such attacks, prevention meausures, recommended actions for civilian, tactical procedures for the police as the first responders, as well as the procedures of other units involved the Integrated Rescue System actively or passively addressing these issues. The aim of this questionnaire survey is to find out the level of awareness that members of the Police of the Czech Republic have about the issue of an Amok situation, as well as to determine the readiness of the members to handle an Amok situation and potential attacks by active shooters.
