Support for teachers in the education of pupils with mental disabilities in the mainstream of education

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou vzdělávání žáků s mentálním postižením v hlavním vzdělávacím proudu. Vzhledem k tomu, že v hlavním vzdělávacím proudu jsou v největší míře vzděláváni žáci s lehkým mentálním postižením zaměřili jsme se na tento stupeň postižení, na charakteristiku, specifika a na jejich vzdělávání. Považovali jsme za důležité představit výukové metody, didaktické zásady a formy organizace práce s těmito žáky. Je nutné uvědomit si hlavní rozdíly a specifika práce s těmito žáky. V závěru nechybí legislativní ukotvení vzdělávání žáků s mentálním postižením a systém podpůrných opatření. V praktické části jsou prezentovány výsledky kvalitativně orientovaného výzkumného šetření zacíleného na identifikaci potřeb pedagogů ve vzdělávání žáků s mentálním postižením. Data jsou získána prostřednictvím polostrukturovaných rozhovorů s pedagogickými pracovníky působícími na vybraných školách ve městě Děčín. Z těchto zjištěných potřeb vychází portfolio didaktických materiálů, které je výstupem této práce, společně s metodickým doporučením pro jeho využití a reflexí daných pedagogů a rodičů.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with the issue of education of pupils with mental disabilities in the mainstream education. Due to the fact that pupils with mild mental disabilities are educated to the greatest extent in the main education stream, we focused on this degree of disability, on the characteristics, specifics and on their education. We considered it important to present teaching methods, didactic principles and forms of organization of work with these pupils. It is necessary to be aware of the main differences and specifics of working with these pupils. At the end of the theoretical part, there is a legislative anchoring of the education of pupils with mental disabilities and a system of support measures. In the practical part, the results of a qualitatively oriented research investigation aimed at identifying the needs of pedagogues in the education of pupils with mental disabilities are presented. Data are obtained through semi-structured interviews with teaching staff working at selected schools in the city of Děčín. The portfolio of didactic materials, which is the output of this work, is based on these identified needs, together with methodological recommendations for its use and the reflection of the given teachers and parents.
