The role of parents of child with hearing disability in the integration process

Abstract:

Tato práce se věnuje problematice integrace dětí se sluchovým postižením a úlohou, kterou v tomto procesu sehrávají rodiče. Práce se dělí na teoretickou a praktickou část. V teoretické části je blíže popsán sluch, anatomie ucha, samotné slyšení či surdopedické zásady. Dále je blíže rozepsaná situace v rodině po zjištění sluchového postižení, reakce rodičů a poskytnutí pomoci rodině ze strany odborníků. Je zde i kapitola, která se věnuje samotnému výběru škol, nejen speciálních pro děti se sluchovým postižením, ale také možnosti integrace do ?běžných? škol a jejím kladům a záporům. V praktické části se zabývám pomocí rozhovoru zkoumáním úlohy rodiče dítěte se sluchovým postižením v procesu integrace. Snažím se zjistit, kdy a proč rodiče zařadili své dítě do ?běžných? škol, jak velkou účast mají na integraci, jak se zapojují do tohoto procesu nejen v rámci pomoci dítěti v edukaci, ale taktéž zapojení do školního procesu se školou, s učiteli či s odborníky.

Abstract:

This work is focused on the issue of integration of children with hearing disability and the part of parents´ activities in this process. The work is divided into theoretical and practical part. Hearing, anatomy of the ear and surdopaedia principles are described in the theoretical part. Also the theme of family situation after the detection of hearing impairment and the reactions of parents to this situation is closely depicted in this part of the work, as well as ways of providing help to the family by professionals. One chapter is dedicated to the theme of choosing school for children with hearing impairment and their possibilities with integration to elementary schools for intact children - including the pluses and minuses of the integration. The practical part comprises the qualitative research. The interview is used for exploration of the role of parents of child with hearing disability in the integration process. I try to find out why and when did the parents decided for integration of their children, how much are they participating in this process and how well do they cooperate with the school, teachers or other professional besides the cooperation with their children.
