Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá vlivem anglického jazyka na překlady do češtiny. Studie je založena na analýze textů, které jsou k dispozici na internetových stránkách Evropské centrální banky a jejich překladů v porovnání s texty, které na svých stránkách nabízí Česká národní banka. Práce se nejprve zabývá historickými vztahy Česka a anglicky mluvících zemí a tak vysvětluje původ vlivu anglického jazyka na jazyk český. Následující část se zabývá překlady pro Evropskou unii, jejich specifiky a také Evropskou unií samotnou. S tímto tématem je úzce provázáno i téma mnohojazyčnosti unie a internacionalizace jazyka obecně. Překládání pro Evropskou unii s sebou přináší i problémy, specifické pro překládání v mnohojazyčném prostředí, zejména se jedná o téma ekvivalence a interference. Práce se také zabývá důvody, které vedou k přejímání cizích slov do češtiny a vzniku neologismů a anglicismů. Uvádí také druhy analýzy, kterým mohou být texty v rámci této problematiky podrobeny. Nejdůležitější částí práce je pak samotná analýza konkrétních textů. Komparativní analýza textů ECB a textů ČNB spolu s výsledky analýzy pomocí korpusů OPUS a InterCorp napomohly negovat původní hypotézu a vyvodit důsledky. V rámci této analýzy zásadně převládaly vlivy na lexikální úrovni, avšak je ponechán prostor i analýze na úrovni syntaxu. V rámci analýzy anglického vlivu na český jazyk byl zkoumán také jev nadměrného vyhýbání se anglickému vlivu. Bylo tak možné pozorovat změny větné struktury v místech, kde takové změny nebyly nezbytně nutné. V poslední části jsou pak shrnuty a na základě zjištění zodpovězeny otázky z úvodu práce. Výsledky ale také přinesly otázky ohledně dalšího vývoje tohoto jevu a ohledně toho, jak by s tímto jevem měl překladatel nakládat.

Abstract:

This thesis examines in detail the topic of English influence on translation into Czech based on the study of texts from major banks’ websites, in particular the European Central Bank and the Czech National Bank. The first part of the thesis explains the historical backgrounds that led to the emergence of the phenomenon. The following part deals with the European Union, translating for the European Union and multilingualism which is an essential element of the EU philosophy. Translating for the EU brings about certain specific problems with translating in a multilingual framework, such as equivalence and interference. The thesis also deals with the reasons for adoption of neologisms into the Czech language and the levels on which it can be observed and analysed. The most important part of the thesis is the analysis of the ECB press releases. The English influence on the lexical level prevails in this case. The comparison with the CNB texts and occurrences found in OPUS and InterCorp corpora results in the negation of the original hypothesis. The analysis is made also on the syntactical level and as a part of examining the English influence, the opposite tendency needs to be discussed as well. It is possible to observe unnecessary shifts from the English structure to the Czech structure on examples where the English frame would work the same. In the summary of the analysis results the thesis concludes with answering the research questions from the introduction of the thesis and also with asking more questions which are connected to the future development of this phenomenon and the translator’s role in dealing with the problems mentioned in this thesis.
