Selected Aspects of the Integration of the Vietnamese Minority in the Czech Republic (Case Study of Brno)

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na problematiku integrace vietnamské menšiny v České republice a zdůrazňuje, že sledování procesu integrace by nemělo zahrnovat pouze kvantitativní aspekty, ale také kvalitativní, které zkoumají názory samotné menšiny na tento proces a faktory, které je ovlivňují. V první části je popsán vývoj vietnamské menšiny v Česku, její specifika a v druhé části jsou zjišťovány názory této menšiny na život v Česku a českou společnost. K zjištění názorů byl využit komplementární přístup formou polostrukturovaného dotazníku a rozhovorů, který umožnil ucelený pohled.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis focuses on the issue of integration of the Vietnamese minority in the Czech Republic and emphasizes that monitoring the integration process should not only include quantitative aspects, but also qualitative aspects that examine the views of the minority itself on this process and the factors that influence them. The first part describes the development of the Vietnamese minority in the Czech Republic, its specifics and the second part examines the views of this minority on life in the Czech Republic and Czech society. A complementary approach in the form of a semi-structured questionnaire and interviews was used to obtain opinions, which allowed for a comprehensive view.
