The Return of Women to the Labour Market After Parental Leave

Abstract:

Cílem diplomové práce je zmapování současného postavení žen na trhu práce se zaměřením na jejich návratnost na pracovní trh po rodičovské dovolené s aspektem na odhalení hlavních bariér, které mají negativní dopad na plynulé zapojení do pracovního prostředí po skončení rodičovské dovolené. Hlavním výstupem diplomové práce je tak odhalení významných problémů, s kterými se ženy samy osobně potýkaly a zároveň návrh doporučení, díky kterým by se matky lépe zapojily do pracovního prostředí a došlo by tak ke zlepšení celé problematiky v této oblasti. Data byla získána za pomocí smíšeného sekvenčního výzkumu. V rámci výsledků bylo upozorněno na významné bariéry v podobě nízké nabídky částečných pracovních úvazků, uzavírání smluv na dobu určitou či časovému harmonogramu zájmových kroužků pro děti, který mnohdy neodpovídá pracovní době rodičů. Diplomová práce rozebírá použité metody výzkumu včetně jeho výsledků a následného stanovení doporučeních pro zlepšení problematiky.

Abstract:

The aim of the thesis is to map the current position of women on the labor market with a focus on their return to the labor market after parental leave with the aspect of revealing the main barriers that have a negative impact on smooth participation in the work environment after the end of parental leave. The main output of the thesis is the identification of significant issues that women personally faced, along with recommendations aimed at facilitating better involvement of mothers in the work environment, thereby improving the overall situation in this area. Data were obtained using a mixed sequential research. As part of the results, attention was drawn to significant barriers such as a low offer of part-time jobs, the conclusion of fixed-term contracts or the timetable of interest groups for children, which often does not correspond to the working hours of parents. The thesis analyzes the research methods used, including its results and subsequent determination of recommendations for improving the issue.
