Succession in family businesses and successful continuation of family business

Abstract:

Nástupnictví je jedním z nejvíce diskutovaných a řešených otázek u rodinných firem a není přesně popsán univerzální postup, podle kterého by společnosti měly postupovat. Stále se objevují nové způsoby a řešení generačních obměn, které pomohou společnosti v udržitelnosti na trhu a pokračování v podnikání i po odchodu zakládajícího vlastníka. Cílem práce bylo formou systematické literární rešerše identifikovat oblasti výzkumu během let 2016-2022 v nástupnictví, a to přes citační a bibliografické databáze. Na základě analýzy primárních výzkumů a článků byly určeny 3 základní zájmové oblasti: plánování nástupnictví, chyby při nástupnictví a udržitelnost podniku po provedení generační obměny. Jde o oblasti, kterým se většina výzkumů během vymezeného období věnuje. Součástí vyhodnocení systematické literární rešerše bylo také určení možných témat pro budoucí studie jako rozhodnutí pro plánování nástupnického procesu nebo provedení podobných výzkumů na území České republiky.

Abstract:

Succession is one of the most discussed and addressed issues in family businesses, and there is not one direct procedure that companies should follow to succeed in the process. New ways and solutions to generational changes are constantly emerging, which will help the company sustain itself on the market and continue business even after the departure of the founding owner. The work aims to identify the area of research during the years 2016-2022 in succession in the form of a systematic literature review through citation and bibliographic databases. Based on the analysis of primary research and articles, three essential areas were identified: succession planning, succession errors, and the company's sustainability even after a generational change. This is an area that most research focuses on during a given period. Part of the systematic literature search evaluation was also the identification of possible topics for future studies as a decision for planning the succession process or conducting similar research in the Czech Republic.
