The latest history in history textbooks for the eighth and ninth grade in Czechoslovakia in 1953 - 1973

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá studiem dějepisných učebnic osmého a devátého ročníku mezi lety 1953 a 1973, s ohledem na rozlišnosti v obsahu. Teoretická část práce předkládá kapitolu, v níž je stručně nastíněna problematika stranického dějepisectví z období československé marxistické historiografie. Na kapitolu o školských zákonech navazuje první výzkumná část, ve které jsou dějepisné osnovy podrobeny komparativní obsahové analýze. Hlavní empirická část práce zahrnuje zkoumání, které se zaměřuje na porovnání pěti učebnic vydaných v rozmezí let 1955–1959–1960–1963–1973. Výzkum se opírá o kvantitativní postup komparativně zaměřené obsahové analýzy textů, přičemž hlavní důraz je kladen na tři konkrétní události 1. poloviny 20. století – Bolševická revoluce v Rusku, vznik ČSR a boj československého národa za osvobození po vstupu SSSR do 2. světové války. V rámci rozboru je sledována frekvence v užívání zvolených pojmů, které byly komunistickou ideologií preferovány či omezovány.

Abstract:

The bachelor’s thesis analyses history textbooks of the eight and ninth year between the years 1953 and 1973 and compares differences in their content. The theoretical part of the thesis presents a chapter which briefly outlines the issue of party historiography from the period of Czechoslovak Marxist history. The chapter on school laws is followed by the first research part, in which the historical curricula are subjected to a comparative content analysis. The main empirical part of the thesis includes research focused on the comparison of five textbooks published in the following years 1955-1959-1960-1963-1973. The research is based on a quantitative approach to comparative content analysis of texts, with the main emphasis on three specific events of the first half of the 20th century - the Bolshevik Revolution in Russia, the establishment of Czechoslovakia and the Czechoslovak nation’s liberation after USSR entered World War II. The analysis monitors the frequency in the use of selected terms that were preferred or limited by comunist ideology.
