Diplomová práce předkládá český překlad prvních čtyřiceti stran cestopisné knihy „Off the Map“. Na příkladech z přeloženého textu pak představuje možná řešení některých překladatelských problémů. Konkrétně rozdílné užití kurzívy v češtině a angličtině, způsob překladu vlastních jmen a překlad písňových textů. Abstract:
The diploma thesis presents a Czech translation of the initial forty pages of the travel book “Off the Map”. Using examples from the translated text it presents possible solutions of some of the translation problems.
