Mergers and acquisitions in the Czech banking sector

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce má za cíl zhodnotit důsledky fúzí a akvizic. Práce se zaměřuje na správné vymezení pojmů fúze a akvizice, důvody vedoucí pro rozhodnutí o realizaci fúze a akvizice, jakým způsobem se dá měřit úspěch této transakce a jaké jednotlivé kroky obsahuje. Dále se práce zaměří na akvizici a následnou fúzi MONETA Money Bank s Wüstenrot CZ, zhodnotí důsledky rozhodnutí banky o realizaci fúze a akvizice a posoudí úspěšnost této transakce v porovnání s důvody, přínosy a dopady fúzí Raiffeisenbank s eBankou a HVB Bank s Živnostenskou bankou.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis aims to evaluate the consequences of mergers and acquisitions. The thesis focuses on the correct definition of the terms merger and acquisition,the reasons leading to the decision on the implementation of the merger and acquisition, how the success of this transaction can be measured and what individual steps it contains. Furthermore, the thesis will focus on the acquisition and subsequent merger of MONETA Money Bank with Wüstenrot CZ, evaluate the consequences of the bank's decision to implement the merger and acquisition and assess the success of this transaction in comparison with the reasons, benefits and impacts of the mergers of Raiffeisenbank with eBanka and HVB Bank with Živnostenská banka.
