Communication with an aggressive patient in prehospital emergency care

Abstract:

Tématem této bakalářské práce je komunikace s agresivním pacientem v PNP. Je složena ze dvou částí - teoretické a praktické. V teoretické části je popsaná zdravotnická záchranná služba a jejích 5 pilířů. Zabývá se také komunikaci obecně - jejími druhy, formami a situačními aspekty. Popisujeme zde agresi, agresivitu a její druhy. Pozornost je věnovaná také možnostem deeskalace agresivního pacienta v přednemocniční neodkladné péči. Praktická část práce je zaměřená na kvantitativní výzkum, který měl následující cíle. Zjistit, zda může opakovaná konfrontace s agresivním pacientem vést k ukončení pracovního poměru u ZZS. Zda jsou zdravotničtí záchranáři spokojeni se spoluprácí s Policií České republiky. Zjistit četnost proškolení v jednání s agresivním pacientem, a zda existuje na ZZS standard pro jednání s těmito pacienty. Výstupem naší práce je vypracovaný standard pro jednání s agresivním pacientem.

Abstract:

The topic of this bachelor's thesis is the communication with an aggressive patient in the prehospital emergency care. It consists of two segments - theoretical and practical. Firstly, the theoretical part describes the ambulance service and its five pillars. It also deals with the basics of communication - different types, varies forms, and situational aspects. The attention is also paid to the possibilities of de-escalation of an aggressive patient in the prehospital emergency care. The practical part of this thesis is focused on a quantitative research that had certain goals. In the first place, I was supposed to find out if repeated confrontation with an aggressive patient can lead to the termination of employment with the Emergency medical service (EMS). The next target was to observe if paramedics are satisfied with the collaboration of the EMS and the Police of the Czech Republic. Lastly, it was crucial to determine the frequency of training that concentrates on the issue of working with an aggressive patient and whether there is a standard for dealing with these patients in the EMS. The output of this work is a step-by-step procedure for dealing with an aggressive patient.
