Evaluation of Motor Skills Children with ADHD by the MABC-2 Test Battery

Abstract:

Cieľom diplomovej práce je zistiť prostredníctvom testovej batérie MABC-2 úroveň motoriky 10-ročných detí vo vybranej základnej škole, ktorá sa zameriava na inluzívne vzdelávanie. Testovaných bolo 29 detí, 10 chlapcov a 19 dievčat, ktoré navštevovali 4. ročník. Vo výskumnej skupine bolo 15 zdravotne znevýhodnených detí, z toho 2 žiaci s diagnostikovanou poruchou autistického spektra. Pri testovaní sme použili štandardizovanú testovú batériu Movement Assessment Battery for Children - 2nd Edition pre vekovú skupinu 7-10 rokov - AB2. Batéria pozostáva z 8 motorických testov, ktoré sú identické pre dievčatá i chlapcov. V rámci výskumu sme porovnávali výsledky chlapcov i dievčat a výsledky žiakov s ADHD a intaktných žiakov. Testovaním sme zistili, že z 15 žiakov, ktorí mali diagnostikované zdravotné znevýhodnenie sa až 7 nedostalo do 1.pásma - bez motorických problémov. Z ostatných 8 žiakov sa v rámci celkového testového skóre traja žiaci dostali na úroveň 16. - 25. percentilu. Výraznejšiu pomoc pri hodnotení motoriky sme evidovali pri jednotlivých komponentoch, kde sa nám lepšie odkryli problémy testovaných jedincov. Testovanie nám ukázalo, že žiaci s diagnostikovanou poruchou ADHD sa ocitli v pásme motorických problémov.

Abstract:

The aim of the thesis is to determine, using the MABC-2 test battery, the level of motor skills 10-year-old children in a selected primary school that focuses on inclusive education. A total of 29 children were tested, 10 boys and 19 girls, all attending the 4th grade. Within the research group, there were 15 children with disabilities, including 2 students diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. We used the standardized test battery called the Movement Assesssment Battery for Children - 2nd Edition (AB2) for the age group 7-10 years. The battery consists of 8 motor tests that are identical for both boys and girls. In the research, we compared the results of boys and girls, as well as the results of students with ADHD and neurotypical students. The testing revealed that students diagnosed with ADHD fell within the range of motor problems. By testing, we have found that out of 15 students with diagnosed disabilities, as many as 7 did not reach the first range - without motor problems. Among the remaining 8 students, three reached the 16th to 25th percentile level based on the overall test score. We observed more significant assistance in evaluating motor skills in individual components, where the problems of the tested individuals were better revealed to us. The testing showed that students diagnosed with ADHD fell into the range of motor problems.
