Financial analysis of selected company

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá finanční analýzou vybraného podniku v odvětví cestovního ruchu. Jejím cílem bylo zhodnotit finanční zdraví společnosti Student Agency k.s., za období mezi lety 2013 až 2018. Vedle tohoto cíle byla v úvodu práce stanovena hypotéza: V případě záporného výsledku ukazatele ekonomické přidané hodnoty (zkráceně EVA) bude mít organizace špatnou úroveň likvidity. Ta byla v průběhu zpracování diplomové páce potvrzena. Vyhodnocení finančního stavu vybrané společnosti probíhalo na základě dat obsažených v účetních výkazech a aplikace konkrétních nástrojů použitých pro vytvoření finanční analýzy. Vybrané nástroje jsou ukazatelé absolutní, poměrové a souhrnné. Práce je rozdělena na teoretickou, praktickou a návrhovou část. Teoretická část byla vytvořena na základě laterální rešerše české a zahraniční odborné literatury. Praktická část se zaměřila na aplikaci poznatků teoretické části, zpracování vertikální analýzy, horizontální analýzy, analýzy poměrových ukazatelů, dále na predikci finanční tísně podniku na základě bonitních a bankrotních modelů a posouzení hodnot majetku pomocí EVA. Kromě tohoto byly jednotlivé vypočtené ukazatele předmětem odvětvového srovnání. V závěru diplomové práce jsou formulovány návrhy na zlepšení finanční situace společnosti, které se odvíjej od dosazených výsledků v praktické části této práce.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the financial analysis of the selected enterprise in the tourism industry. Its purpose was to assess the financial health of Student Agency company with limited partnership, of the period 2013 to 2018. In addition to this goal, in the introduction of the work, a hypothesis was put forward: “In case of the negative result of the indicator of Economic value added (abbreviated EVA), the organization will have a poor level of liquidity.” This hypothesis was confirmed during the thesis. The evaluation of the financial condition of the selected company was based on the data contained in the accounting statements and the application of specific tools used to create the financial analysis. Selected measures are absolute ratios, ratio, and summary measures. The thesis is divided into three distinct parts: theoretical, practical and design. The theoretical part is based on a lateral search of Czech and foreign specialized literature. The practical part is focuses on the application of knowledge of the theoretical part, the processing of vertical analysis, horizontal analysis, analysis of ratio indicators, as well as the prediction of the financial distress of the enterprise based on financial health and bankruptcy models and the assessment of asset values using EVA. In addition, the individual measures were subject to a sectoral comparison. At the end of the thesis, are formulated proposals to improve the financial situation of the company. Thesis proposals depend on the results achieved in the practical part of this thesis.
