Racial Discrimination in Labour Market in Selected Countries

Abstract:

Tato bakalářské práce se zabývá rasovou diskriminací na trhu práce ve Spojených státech amerických. V první části jsou uvedeny teoretické poznatky o mzdových rozdílech a diskriminačních teoriích. Je zde také vysvětlen mzdový rozdíl a jeho rozklad. Druhá část je věnována pracím, které zkoumají rasovou diskriminaci. Ve třetí části jsou vytvořeny ekonometrické modely, které zkoumají mzdovou mezeru. Následně je proveden rozklad této mezery. Poslední část je věnována reálným výsledkům o mzdové mezeře a rozložení pracovní síly na trhu práce ve Spojených státech amerických a popsány zákonné opatření vlády Spojených států proti diskriminaci.

Abstract:

This bachelor´s thesis is about racial discrimination in the labour market in the United States. The first section provides theoretical findings about pay gaps and discriminatory theories. It also explains wage gap and its decomposition. The second part is devoted to works that explore racial discrimination. In the third part there are created econometrics models that examine the wage gap. Subsequently is made decomposition of this gap. The last part is devoted to the results of the real pay gap and distribution of labour in the labour market in the United States and describes the legal of the United States against discrimination.
