David Hume and his Skepticism towards Science

Anotácia:

Předložená bakalářská práce se zabývá Davidem Humem a jeho myšlenkami týkajících se vědy a jejího poznání. Je zaměřena teoreticky, vychází z přístupných textů Davida Huma i textů, které se věnují jeho myšlení, a to jak pohledu na celek Humova díla, tak i textů speciálně věnovaných Humovu chápání vědy, její platnosti i aplikovatelnosti jejích výsledků. Použitá literatura zahrnuje texty z konce 20. století, začátku 21. století, ale i historické (Tvrdý, Masaryk).

Abstract:

The submitted bachelor's thesis deals with David Hume and his ideas regarding science and its knowledge. It is focused theoretically, it is based on accessible texts of David Hume and texts that are devoted to his thinking, both a view of the entirety of Hume's work and texts specifically devoted to Hume's understanding of science, its validity and the applicability of its results. The literature used includes texts from the end of the 20th century, the beginning of the 21st century, but also historical texts (Tvrdý, Masaryk).
