Explanatory power of financial statements of non-governmental non-profit organizations and business entities

Abstract:

Cílem této bakalářské práce je zhodnotit vliv vybraných identifikovaných rozdílů v účetních postupech a ve vykazování informací v účetní závěrce podnikatelských subjektů a nestátních neziskových organizací na vypovídací schopnost účetní závěrky. Teoretická část rozebírá účetní závěrku podnikatelů a nestátních neziskových organizací prostřednictvím literární rešerše a analýzy legislativy. Praktická část pomocí komparativní analýzy a ilustrativních příkladů demonstruje vliv rozdílných účetních postupů podnikatelských subjektů a nestátních neziskových organizací na rozvahu a výkaz zisku a ztráty. Závěr práce konstatuje, že by bylo vhodné upravit některé právní předpisy a účetní postupy, které jsou v praxi zavedeny. Přidanou hodnotou práce jsou konkrétní doporučení pro úpravy některých účetních postupů a vykazování údajů v účetních výkazech s cílem poskytnout věrnější a poctivější zobrazení skutečnosti.

Abstract:

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to evaluate the impact of selected identified differences in accounting practices and in the reporting of information in the financial statements of business entities and non-governmental non-profit organizations on the explanatory power of financial statements. The theoretical part is concerned with the financial statements of entrepreneurs and non-governmental non-profit organizations through a literature search and analysis of legislation. The practical part uses comparative analysis and illustrative examples to demonstrate the impact of different accounting practices of business entities and non-governmental non-profit organisations on the balance sheet and income statement. The thesis concludes that it would be advisable to modify some of the legislation and accounting practices that are established in practice. The added value of the thesis is the specific recommendations for adjustments to certain accounting practices and reporting of data in the financial statements in order to provide a truer and fairer presentation of reality.
