Work satisfaction of employees in concrete non-governmental organisation with factors of work satisfaction

Abstract:

Tématem diplomové práce je pracovní spokojenost zaměstnanců neziskové organizace. Cílem práce je zjistit, jak jsou zaměstnanci dané organizace na sledovaných pracovních pozicích spokojeni s jednotlivými aspekty vybraných vnějších faktorů pracovní spokojenosti. Pracovní spokojenost představuje globální postoj k jednotlivým aspektům faktorů pracovní spokojenosti, vyjadřuje vztah pracovníka k jeho organizaci a ovlivňuje jeho pracovní chování. Ve své práci se zabývám vybranými vnějšími faktory – druh a charakter práce, finanční a nefinanční ohodnocení, sociální prostředí, vedení a organizace práce. Ke sběru dat jsem použila polostrukturovaný rozhovor a pokusila se tak zodpovědět hlavní i dílčí výzkumné otázky. Rozhovor se uskutečnil s 9 pracovníky služby pro lidi bez domova, která je součástí neziskové organizace. V empirické části jsem pak provedla analýzu a interpretaci získaných dat. Na základě zjištěných dat, můžeme konstatovat, že dílčí nespokojenost vyjádřili respondenti s finančním ohodnocením své psychicky náročné práce. Jisté nedostatky vidí i v organizaci práce, a to zejména v personálním zajištění a nadměrné administrativě, která je odvádí od práce s klienty, kterou považují za prioritu. Všichni pozitivně hodnotí atmosféru na pracovišti, přátelské vztahy, soudržnost kolektivu a otevřený a neformální způsob vedení. Přes všechna zjištěná negativa a náročnost práce s lidmi bez domova, vyjádřili respondenti poměrně velkou celkovou pracovní spokojenost.

Abstract:

The topic of the bachelor thesis is the job satisfaction of employees of non-profit organization. The goal is to find out how the employees of the given organization on the specific job position are satisfied based on chosen external factors of the job satisfaction and its aspects. Job satisfaction represents the global attitude to the individual job satisfaction factor, expresses the relation between the employee and the organization and affects the employee’s working behaviour. The external factors are the main point of interest in my thesis – the type and character of the job, financial and non-financial rewards, social environment, leadership and organization of work. The semi structured interview was used to collect data and to answer primary and secondary research questions. The interview was done with 9 workers of the non-profit organization taking care of homeless people. The analysis and interpretation of the data is completed in the empirical part. The respondent’s financial rewards of their psychically demanding job is one of the job dissatisfaction factor based on the data collected. The organization of work is also seen as other dissatisfaction factor – especially the staffing and overwhelming administration, which is very time consuming and the employees could have spent this time with their clients, which is their priority. The working environment, friendly relationships, team cohesion and open and informal leadership are all perceived very positively by all the respondents. We can conclude that the positive factors and aspects are outbalancing the negative ones. Even though there are some negative findings and the work with homeless people is very demanding, the respondents stated fairly high job satisfaction.
