Microregion Veselí nad Moravou and its relations to Uherské Hradiště region and to Hodonín region: regional geographical study

Abstract:

Město Veselí nad Moravou spadalo od zřízení krajů v 16. století až do roku 1949 pod územně správní celky se sídlem v Uherském Hradišti. Do roku 1960 bylo město sídlem okresu Veselí nad Moravou, po té se stalo součástí okresu Hodonín a od roku 2000 je začleněno společně s Hodonínem k Jihomoravskému kraji, přičemž Uherské Hradiště patří do Zlínského kraje. Diplomová práce zkoumá vazby správního obvodu obce s pověřeným obecním úřadem Veselí nad Moravou k Uherskohradišťsku a k Hodonínsku na základě územně správního vývoje, vnitřní migrace, dojížďky za prací a do škol. Dotazníkové šetření nastínilo, zda tradiční vazby Veselska k obcím okresu Uherské Hradiště jsou zachovány nebo byly zpřetrhány zřízením současných krajů. Diplomová práce obsahuje také nástin aplikace tématu při výuce na gymnáziu.

Abstract:

Since the introduction of administrativ units in the 16th century till 1949, the city of Veselí nad Moravou was part of the Uherské Hradiště region. Between 1949 and 1960, the city was capital of its own district. After 1960, it became part of the Hodonín district and since 2000, it has been incorporated, together with the city of Hodonín, into the South Moravia region while the city of Uherské Hradiště has been incorporated into the Zlín region. This diploma theses focuses on the ties of communities in the Veselí nad Moravou area to both the Uherské Hradiště and Hodonín area. The evaluation of these ties is based on the regional development of the communities, internal migration and commute to school and work. The conducted questionnaire survey indicates, whether the traditional ties of the Veselí nad Moravou area to communities in the Uherské Hradiště district have been preserved or whether these ties have been severed with the introduction of new system of regions. The diploma theses also mentions possible scenarios of application of the main topic in the grammar school curriculum.
