Better Life Index – construction, interpretation of values and country comparison

Abstract:

Tato práce se zaměřuje na rozbor konstrukce Indexu lepšího života OECD -Better Life Indexu, v interpretaci hodnot u jednotlivých kritérií a v následné komparaci vybraných zemí ve zvoleném období podle jednotlivých kritérií. Teoretická část práce se zaměřuje na základní zakotvení tématu – kvalita života, udržitelný rozvoj a propojení OECD (Organizace pro ekonomickou spolupráci a rozvoj) s Better Life Indexem. V této části jsou popsány i další indexy, které v dnešní době jsou považovány za hodnotné pro sledování blahobytu lidí či životního prostředí. Praktická část se zabývá porovnáním a zjištěním závislosti BLI v jednotlivých zemí, které jsou v tomto indexu zařazeny.

Abstract:

This thesis is to analyse the design of the Better Life Index of the OECD, to interpret the values for the individual criteria and to then compare the selected countries over the selected period according to the individual criteria. The theoretical part of the thesis focuses on basic grounding of the theme - quality of life, sustainable development and linking the OECD (Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development) with the Better Life Index. Other indices are also described in this section, which these days are considered valuable for monitoring people's well-being or the environment. The practical part deals with comparing and determining the dependency of BLI in each country included in this index.
