Affect of the social status on the ammount of personal bankrupts

Abstract:

Vzhledem k čím dál vyššímu zadlužování generace za generací a rostoucímu počtu návrhů na oddlužení se tato bakalářská práce zaměřila na vztah mezi sociálním statusem definovaným kvalifikací zaměstnání, věkem a pohlavím, a počtem osobních bankrotů. Hlavním cílem výzkumu bylo zjistit, zda existuje statisticky významná závislost mezi těmito proměnnými a jaký je rozsah této závislosti. Byly shromážděny záznamy z insolvenčního rejstříku podaných u krajského soudu v Ústí nad Labem v letech 2012-2021. Celkem bylo vyhodnoceno více než tři tisíce záznamů, které byly následně statisticky zpracovány prostřednictvím neparametrického Pearsonova testu chí-kvadrát nezávislosti. Výsledky ukázaly, že jak kvalifikace zaměstnání, tak věk a pohlaví, mají vliv na počet osobních bankrotů. Toto zjištění ukazuje, že lidé s nižší kvalifikací zaměstnání, ve středním věku a spíše muži než ženy, jsou náchylnější k finančním problémům a osobním bankrotům. Tyto poznatky by mohly být užitečné pro vládní orgány a finanční instituce při plánování politik a programů pro zlepšení finanční gramotnosti a prevenci finančního selhání u obyvatelstva.

Abstract:

Due to the increasingly higher debt of generation after generation and the growing number of proposals for debt relief, this bachelor's thesis focused on the relationship between social status defined by employment qualification, age, gender, and the number of personal bankruptcies. The main aim of the research was to determine whether there is a statistically significant dependence between these variables and what is the extent of this dependence. Records from the insolvency register filed with the district court in Ústí nad Labem between 2012 and 2021 were collected. A total of more than three thousand records were evaluated, which were subsequently statistically processed using the non-parametric Pearson's chi-squared test for independence. The results showed that both employment qualification, age, and gender have an influence on the number of personal bankruptcies. This finding suggests that people with lower employment qualifications, in middle age, and more men than women are more susceptible to financial problems and personal bankruptcies. These findings could be useful for government agencies and financial institutions in planning policies and programs to improve financial literacy and prevent financial failure among the population.
