Abstract:

Předmětem diplomové práce „Zahraniční studenti na českých veřejných vysokých školách“ je hodnocení ekonomických aspektů a dopadů studia zahraničních studentů na českých vysokých školách a formulace prognóz dalšího vývoje. V teoretické části je popsán systém českého vysokého školství a vymezeno postavení zahraničních studentů. Dále jsou představeny způsob financování vysokých škol a ekonomické aspekty vysokoškolského vzdělání. Praktická část se potom skládá z případové studie Masarykovy univerzity, jejíž součástí je i představení výsledků provedeného výzkumu mezi slovenskými absolventy, a z hodnocení ekonomických aspektů a dopadů studia zahraničních studentů. K tomuto účelu slouží zejména provedená analýza nákladů a výnosů. V závěru je nastíněna prognóza dalšího vývoje v celostátním i evropském kontextu.

Abstract:

The goal of the submitted thesis “Foreign students at the Czech public universities” is the evaluation of economic aspects and impacts of the studies of foreign students at the Czech public universities and the formulation of predictions of the future development. The theoretical part describes the system of Czech higher education and the position of foreign students. Subsequently, the system of financing universities and economic aspects of higher education are presented. The second part is composed of the case study of the Masaryk University, which also includes a presentation of the results of a questionnaire survey carried out among the Slovak graduates, and of the evaluation of economic aspects and impacts of the foreign students’ studies. For this purpose, the cost benefit analysis was executed. In conclusion, the prognosis of the future development in the national and European context is presented.
