The Duality of Worlds in Tideland
Abstract:
Tato bakalářská diplomová práce se zabývá neoformalistickou analýzou filmu Terryho Gilliama Krajina přílivu z roku 2005. Celá analýza je podřízena dominantě jakožto jednotící kostře celého filmu. Dle mého názoru tvoří tuto dominantu přítomnost dvou rozdílných světů, indikovaných syžetem a stylem na různých úrovních filmu.
Abstract:
The aim of my thesis was to prove my hypothesis about the dominant present in the movie Tideland, made by Terry Gilliam in 2005. I established the two worlds in it, which are being indicated by various signs throughout the style and plot. These worlds are called the world of safety and the world of danger and they essentially lead the spectators attention by giving them special hints.
