Feasibility study of ESOP based on blockchain technology in the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Hlavním cílem práce je navrhnout zjednodušení pro aplikaci ESOP ve společnostech pomocí technologie blockchainu s důrazem na úsporu nákladů a času. Pro tento návrh určit, zda je možné v českém prostředí uvést mechanismus, který převádí ESOP do formy blockchainu z legislativního a technologického pohledu. Následně tento mechanismus definovat a určit jeho očekávané přínosy oproti současně aplikované praxi. V poslední části práce jsou vypočteny finanční incentivy pro tržní subjekt třetí strany, který vývoj a provoz navrhovaného mechanismu zastřeší. Výsledkem této práce je, že lze pomocí technologie blockchain vytvořit v České republice zaměstnanecké akciové programy založené na virtuálních podílech, které značně usnadňují a zlevňují zavedení těchto plánů a zefektivňují jejich provoz ve společnosti. Zároveň vytvoření tohoto řešení pro třetí stranu poskytuje finanční incentivy v delším časovém horizontu.

Abstract:

The main objective of the thesis is to propose a simplification for the application of ESOP in companies using blockchain technology with an emphasis on cost and time savings. For this proposal to determine whether it is possible from a legislative and technological point of view to create a mechanism in the Czech environment that converts ESOP into the form of blockchain. Subsequently, define this mechanism and determine its expected benefits compared to currently applied practice. In the last part of the work, financial incentives are calculated for a third-party entity that will develop and operate the proposed mechanism. The result of this work is that with the help of blockchain technology, employee share programs based on virtual shares can be introduced in the Czech Republic with effects of making these plans implemented faster and cheaper and make their operation in the company more efficient. Creating this solution by a third party also provides financial incentives in the longer term.
