Is the dominance hierarchy related to the willingness to fill in questionnaires?

Abstract:

Cílem této diplomové práce bylo na datech získaných z vlastního dotazníkového šetření ověřit možný vztah mezi dominancí a ochotou respondentů vyplnit dotazník. První část zahrnuje literární rešerši faktorů, které ovlivňují ochotu vyplnit dotazník, speciální pozornost byla věnována socioekonomickým a sociálně-psychologickým faktorům, které mají na ochotu největší vliv. Součástí byla též rešerše typického chování dominantních a submisivních lidí. Druhá část práce sestává z analýzy dat získaných z dotazníku a testování položených hypotéz. K testování byl použit behaviorální experiment, který spočíval v porovnávání charakteristik respondentů získaných z prvního dotazníku s reakcemi na druhý dotazník, o jehož vyplnění byli respondenti požádáni na konci prvního dotazníku. Behaviorálním experimentem bylo zjištěno, že dominance má vliv na ochotu vyplnit další dotazník pouze u žen, přičemž submisivní respondentky odpovídaly častěji než respondentky dominantní. Kromě dominance byly v diplomové práci testovány i alternativní hypotézy, které porovnávaly další charakteristiky respondentů s ochotou vyplnit dotazník.

Abstract:

The aim of this thesis was to verify the possible relationship between dominance and respondents' willingness to fill out the questionnaire on the basis of data obtained from our own questionnaire survey. The first part includes a literature research of factors that influence the willingness to fill in the questionnaire, special attention was paid to socio-economic and socio-psychological factors that influence the willingness the most. Research of the typical behavior of dominant and submissive people was also included. The second part of the work consists of the analysis of the data obtained from the questionnaire and the testing of the proposed hypotheses. A behavioral experiment was used to test this by comparing the characteristics of the respondents obtained from the first questionnaire with their responses to the second questionnaire, which the respondents were asked to complete at the end of the first questionnaire. The behavioral experiment found that dominance has an effect on the willingness to fill out another questionnaire only among women, with submissive respondents answering more often than dominant respondents. In addition to dominance, the diploma thesis also tested alternative hypotheses that compared other characteristics of the respondents with their willingness to fill out the questionnaire.
