Possibilities of Using PUR Waste as a Filler in a Polymer Matrix

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá možnostmi využití polyuretanového odpadu jako plniva v polymerní matrici. Nejen u polyuretanu, ale u všech plastů platí, že se zvyšující se spotřebou narůstá také množství odpadů, které po výrobcích zůstanou. Hledání možností, jak využít odpad, pokud nelze přistoupit ke klasickým recyklačním metodám, může být společnosti velmi přínosné. Cílem této práce bylo navrhnout a připravit dané kompozity, proměřit jejich vlastnosti vhodnými metodami, stanovit míru souhlasu s reálnými výrobky a navrhnout možnosti aplikace připravených kompozitů. Vyhodnocení proběhlo na základě výsledků jednotlivých měření pro dané kompozity, konkrétně: zkouška tahem, infračervená spektroskopie s Fourierovou transformací a měření přenosového útlumu. Výsledky této práce ukazují, že polyuretanový odpad lze použít jako plnivo v polymerní matrici, přičemž ale záleží na koncentraci plniva a na výrobku, který má být vyroben. V závěru jsou formulovány návrhy pro výrobce, které poukazují na polyuretanový odpad jako na plnivo, které zlevňuje výrobu, a že se podle experimentu v této práci nejedná o plnivo, které by do značné míry zlepšovalo mechanické vlastnosti.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with the possibilities of polyurethane waste usage as a filler in the polymer matrix. With an increasing consumption the amount of waste that remains after the products also grows. This applies not only to polyurethane, but also in case of all plastics as well. Finding investigating methods to utilize waste, if conventional recycling methods cannot be used, can be very beneficial for society. The aim of this work was to design and prepare the composites, measure their properties by appropriate methods, determine the degree of agreement with the real products and the possibility of prepared composites applications. The evaluation was based on the results of individual measurements for the given composites, specifically: tensile test, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and transfer damping. The results of the work show that polyurethane waste can be used as a filler in a polymer matrix, but it depends on the concentration of the filler and the product which is to be produced. As a conclusion, it provides proposals for the producers considering polyurethane waste as s filler reducing the production cost and emphasizes the fact that, according to the experiment, polyurethane appears to improve mechanical properties only insignificantly.
