Biofilm formation and other virulence factors in bacteria of the genus Proteus
Abstract:
Mezi časté nozokomiální infkce patří infekce močového traktu, které způsobují komplikace zejména u pacientů s dlouhodobě zavedeným katétrem. Katétry představují pro bakterie možnost snažšího vstupu do močových cest. Rod Proteus, jeden z významných původců močových infekcí, využívá ke kolonizaci různé faktory virulence a tvorbu biofilmu.
Abstract:
Urinary tract infections are among the most frequently occurring nosocomial infections which can complicate the care in patients with indwelling urinary catheters. The catheters form a bridge along which bacteria can pass into the urinary tract. Several virulence factors and biofilm formation are using for colonization by genus Proteus, an important pathogen of the urinary tract.
