Tato práce se zabývá zkoumáním klíčových témat žánru chick lit, jeho historického vývoje, problematiky genderové nerovnosti a vlivu, který má na spisovatele a čtenáře. This thesis delves into the exploration of the key themes within the genre of chick lit, its historical evolution, the issues of gender inequality, and the impact it has on writers and readers. The analysis focuses on the comparison of two significant books of the genre, Bridget Jones’s Diary by Helen Fielding (1996), and Waiting to Exhale by Terry McMillan (1993).
