Abstract:

This Bachelor's thesis deals with coinage of new words and the differences between their various language versions specifically between English and Czech language. On the basis of the morphological theory from the given literature, the chosen words from the American TV series Futurama are analyzed and sorted into corresponding categories. On the basis of this analysis, all the relevant ways of creating new words are identified both in English and Czech. Subsequently, these ways of creating new words are compared to each other in the form of graphs. Ultimately, all the similarities and differences between the individual word-formation processes in both languages are accounted for.

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou tvorby nových slov a rozdíly mezi různými jazykovými verzemi, konkrétně mezi anglickým a českým jazykem. Vybraná slova z amerického seriálu Futurama jsou na základě platné teorie uvedené literatury o morfologii podrobena analýze a jsou rozdělena do příslušných kategorií. Na základě této analýzy jsou u obou jazyků identifikovány veškeré relevantní způsoby tvorby nových slov a následně jsou pomocí grafů porovnány podobnosti a rozdíly mezi jednotlivými procesy jejich tvorby.
