Selected Threats in Cyberspace with a Focus on Children and Adolescents

Abstract:

Nástup informačních a komunikačních technologií přinesl širokou škálu příležitostí i rizik spojených s užíváním kyberprostoru nejen pro děti a dospívající. Diplomová práce se zaměřuje na kybernetické hrozby, kterým jsou děti vystaveny v důsledku svého přirozeného zapojení do digitálního světa. Tyto různé formy kybernetických hrozeb, včetně kyberšikany, kybergroomingu, sextingu, kyberstalkingu a sharentingu, patří pro děti mezi nejzávažnější v dnešní digitální době. S nárůstem užívání sociálních sítí a online služeb je stále důležitější zaměřit se na jejich vliv, stejně jako na možné vznikající závislosti spojené s nesprávným využíváním online prostředí a her. Děti se stávají zranitelnými vůči těmto kybernetickým hrozbám, což může způsobit značné porušení jejich soukromí a negativně ovlivnit jejich duševní zdraví, sociální interakce a celkový rozvoj. Je proto nezbytné zaměřit se na ochranu dětí a poskytnout jim odpovídající podporu a vzdělávání v oblasti bezpečného chování online. Diplomová práce si klade za cíl na základě výzkumných otázek identifikovat a analyzovat hrozby a zjistit faktory, které hrály významnou roli u skutečných případů a výrazně ovlivnily negativní vývoj situace.

Abstract:

The advent of information and communication technologies has brought a wide range of opportunities and risks associated with the use of cyberspace, not only for children and adolescents. This thesis focuses on the cyber threats that children are exposed to as a result of their natural engagement with the digital world. These various forms of cyber threats, including cyberbullying, cybergrooming, sexting, cyberstalking, and sharenting are among the most serious for children in today's digital age. With the increase in the use of social networking and online services, it is increasingly important to focus on their impact, as well as the potential emerging addictions associated with the misuse of online environments and games. Children are becoming vulnerable to these cyber threats, which can cause significant breaches of their privacy and negatively affect their mental health, social interactions and overall development. It is therefore essential to focus on protecting children and providing them with adequate support and education on safe online behaviour. Based on the research questions, the thesis aims to identify and analyse the threats and to identify the factors that played a significant role in the actual cases and significantly influenced the negative development.
