Addictive substances, addiction and recidivism

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá návykovými látkami, závislostí a problematikou recidivy. V teoretické části se nachází charakteristika návykových látek, jejich účinků a rizik, která představují. Dále se věnuji závislosti, která může být následkem užívání návykových látek, její prevenci a možné léčbě. Poslední část je věnovaná recidivě a jejím příčinám. Výzkumná část je vedena za pomoci kvalitativního výzkumu. Rozhovory se uskutečnily s osobami, které už jednou prošly odvykací léčbou. Cílem bakalářské práce je zjistit, jak informanti sami rozumějí příčinám/spouštěčům, které vedly k užití návykové látky a jak charakterizují důvody, jenž je vrací k tomu, aby začali užívat i po zkušenosti s odvykací léčbou.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis focuses on addictive substances, drug addiction and relapse issues. Theoretical part deals with characteristics of drugs, their effect on the human body and the risks they pose to substances abusers. Furthermore this thesis depicts addiction itself, possible consequences, prevention and treatment of using addictive substances. The last part focuses on relapse and its causes. The research was conducted with quality research methods. Interviews were realized with participants, who have undergone withdrawal therapy. The aim of the bachelor thesis is to find out whether the respondents understand the causes and triggers leading to drug abuse and what reasons are behind returning to addictive substances despite the former experience with addiction treatment.
