Communism and democracy from the perspecive of todayś seniors

Abstract:

Tato práce na je rozdělena na teoretickou a praktickou část, přičemž teoretická část nás nejprve seznámí s historií Evropy od poloviny 18. století po konec 2. světové války a následně také s dějinami Československa. Druhá kapitola pojednává o komunismu, a to z pohledu Karla Marxe, Bedřicha Engelse a Vladimíra Iljiče Lenina. Pozornost je zde také věnována rozdílu, mezi komunismem a socialismem. Část bakalářské práce se rovněž zaměřuje na kibucy, kde byly komunistické myšlenky realizovány v praxi. Po této kapitole je popsána demokracie, její formy a také definice demokracie podle různých autorů. Praktická část je tvořena výzkumem, jehož cílem bylo zjistit jaké klady a zápory má socialismus i demokracie v pohledu dnešních seniorů. Výzkumnou metodou užitou v této části práce je standardizovaný rozhovor. Výsledkem rozhovorů je zjištění, že přáním dnešních seniorů je návrat k sociálním jistotám socialistického režimu, při ponechání dnešních demokratické svobody.

Abstract:

TheThis work is divided into theoretical and practical part, where the theoretical part initially deals with the history of Europe since the mid-18th century till the end of the World War II and subsequently also with the history of Czechoslovakia. The second chapter deals with communism, from the perspective of Karl Marx, Friedrich Engels and Vladimir Iljic Lenin. Attention is also paid to the difference between communism and socialism. Part of the thesis also focuses on the kibbutz, where the communist ideas were put into practice. After this chapter democracy is described, its forms and definitions of democracy by different authors. The practical part consists of research, whose aim was to find out the pros and cons of communism and democracy from today's seniors? point of view. The research method used for this part of the work is standardized interview. The result of the interviews is the fact that today's seniors desire a return to social certainties of the socialist regime, maintaining today's democratic freedom.
