Business strategy of Public Transit Company Karlovy Vary (DPKV)

Abstract:

Předložená práce řeší podnikatelskou strategii Dopravního podniku Karlovy Vary, a.s. Cílem této bakalářské práce je, po definování aktuální a marketingové strategie a finanční situace, podat vlastní návrhy na zlepšení této stávající strategie. Při práci jsem se zaměřila na teoretická východiska podnikatelské strategie, základní údaje o dopravního podniku, marketingové prostředí, rozšířený marketingový mix služeb, swot analýzu, efektivnost společnosti a finanční vývoj jednotlivých středisek. Součástí práce je dále vlastní marketingový průzkum, kterým jsem chtěla zjistit, jaké povědomí mají obyvatelé Karlových Varů a okolí o dopravním podniku, jeho službách a které z nich využívají, jak je hodnotí a jak by reagovali při zavedení určitých změn. Závěrem práce podávám vlastní návrhy, které vyplynuly i z výsledků mého marketingového průzkumu, v podobě zavedení marketingového oddělení mezi stávající strategické cíle. Konkrétní návrhy na zlepšení podnikatelské strategie by mohly být přínosem hlavně pro dopravní podnik.

Abstract:

This submitted thesis deals with the business strategy of Public Transit Company Karlovy Vary (DPKV). The aim of this undergraduate thesis is, after definition of a current and marketing strategy and a financial situation, to suggest my own ideas for improvement of the current strategy. I focused on theoretical solutions of business strategy, basic data about the public transit company, marketing environment, extended marketing mixture of services, SWOT analysis, efficiency of the company and financial development of individual centres. The part of the thesis is my own marketing research where I wanted to find out whether the people living in Karlovy Vary and in its surroundings have knowledge about the public transit company, its services and which of them they use, how they evaluate them and how they would react to implementation of certain changes. In the 'Conclusion' part of the thesis I propose motions, which emerged from the results of my marketing research, for introducing of a marketing department among current strategy aims. Specific ideas for improvement of business strategy could be of benefit mostly to the public transit company.
