The role of physiotherapist in the application of the Snoezelen method

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá multisenzorickým konceptem Snoezelen. V teoretické části krátce rozebírá rehabilitaci a možnosti uplatnění tohoto konceptu v jejich jednotlivých oblastech. Jak už bylo zmíněno, jedná se o multisenzorickou stimulaci, která by měla klienta oslovit do hloubky všech smyslů. Proto se celá jedna kapitola věnuje anatomii smyslových systémů a principu jejich fungování. V předposlední kapitole se zabývám neuroplasticitou mozku, což je v současné době často probírané a zkoumané téma. S novými poznatky o tomto fenoménu došlo k rozvinutí konceptu Snoezelen, a proto považuji za nutné se alespoň stručně zmínit, co tento pojem znamená. Poslední kapitola teoretické části již popisuje Snoezelen a možnosti jeho využití. Praktická část je zpracována formou kazuistiky u dvou vybraných dětských pacientů v prostředí Snoezelen. Obsahuje vstupní kineziologický rozbor, popis průběhu terapií, hodnocení po každé terapii a výstupní vyšetření.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with multisensoric concept Snoezelen. In the theoretical part it discusses rehabilitation and possibilities of using this concept in various fields. As it was mentioned before, we are talking about multisensoric stimulation which should touch deeply all senses of the client. This is the reason why a whole chapter is dedicated to anatomy of senses and how they work. Another chapter talks about neuroplasticity of brain which is a widely discussed topic these days. With new knowledge about this phenomenon the concept Snoezelen was developed further and that is why I feel neccessary to briefly mention what the term means. The last chapter describes Snoezelen and the possibilities of using it. The practical part is made in the form of case study at two selected children patients in the Snoezelen environment. It contains entry kinesiological analysis, description of therapy progress and evaluation after each therapy and final examination.
