Corporate Social Responsibility of Mining Companies in the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Předmětem této bakalářské práce je společenská odpovědnost těžebních podniků v České republice. Úvodní kapitola teoretické části obsahuje vymezení celého konceptu CSR, který zahrnuje historii a také definici pojmu stakeholder. Dále jsou uvedeny tři základní oblasti společenské odpovědnosti, tzv. triple bottom line. Nedílnou součástí práce je také vymezení moderních nástrojů CSR. Poslední kapitola teoretické části se zabývá společenskou odpovědnosti v České republice a v zahraničí. V aplikační části jsou nejprve představeny vybrané těžební společnosti a následně je podrobně zanalyzováno a porovnáno uplatňování společenské odpovědnosti v jejich firemní praxi. Práce také obsahuje komparaci dvou CSR reportingových zpráv podle hodnotících indikátorů směrnice GRI. V poslední kapitole aplikační části jsou uvedena doporučení k zefektivnění pro zkoumané těžební společnosti.

Abstract:

The subject of this bachelor's thesis is corporate social responsibility of mining companies in the Czech Republic. The opening chapter of the theoretical part contains the definition of the whole CSR concept which includes history and definition of the term stakeholder. It also provides three basic areas of social responsibility, referred to as triple bottom line. The definition of the CSR modern tools is indispensable part of the thesis as well. The last chapter of the theoretical part concerns with the social responsibility in the Czech Republic and abroad. In the application part, there is the introduction of the chosen mining companies, followed by their detail analysis and the comparison of their social responsibility application in their corporate practice. The thesis also includes comparison of two CSR reports according to GRI rating indicators. The final chapter of the application part contains recommendations for examined mining companies.
