Práce se zabývá právním postavením zvířete od počátku dějin až po současnost. Věnuje se jak historickým přístupům člověka ke zvířeti, tak současnému pohledu na zvíře. Thesis deals with animal legal position throughout the history. It focuses on both historical and contemporary perspectives. Also characterizes the animal legal position in the law system of Czech Republic and analyzes corresponding legal enactments: Legal Act n. 40/2964 Sb., Civil Code, new draft of Civil Code, Animal Protection Law n. 246/1992 Sb. and others.
