Comparison of approaches to film tourism

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá filmovým cestovním ruchem, který zahrnuje účastníky turismu navštěvující filmové destinace. V úvodu práce je uvedena definice cestovního ruchu a jeho dopady na národní hospodářství a místní obyvatelstvo zejména díky filmové propagaci. Je zde také zmíněn dopad pandemie COVID – 19 na cestovní ruch. Hlavní část práce představuje klasifikaci filmového cestovního ruchu, motivace účastníků a význam filmového turismu pro lepší prosperitu destinací, nabízených k odpočinku a poznávání nových vzdálených míst. Závěrečná část práce uvádí případové studie filmového turismu. Hlavním cílem práce je komparace podstatných vlivů na zviditelnění destinací prostřednictvím audiovizuálních snímků, a to na příkladech filmové trilogie Pán prstenů a seriálu Hra o trůny. Dílčím cílem je vytvořit ucelený rámec nového trendu v cestovním ruchu, kterým je filmový turismus, a ukázat, jak ho lze využít jako marketingového nástroje pro přilákání návštěvníků do dané lokace.

Abstract:

The master thesis deals with film tourism, which includes tourism participants visiting film destinations. The thesis starts with a definition of tourism and its impact on the national economy and local population, especially through film promotion. The impact of the COVID - 19 pandemic on tourism is also mentioned. The main part of the thesis presents the classification of film tourism, the motivations of the participants and the importance of film tourism for the better prosperity of the destinations offered to relax and explore new remote places. The final part of the thesis presents case studies of film tourism. The main objective of the thesis is to compare the significant influences on the visibility of destinations through audiovisual images, using the examples of the Lord of the Rings film trilogy and the Game of Thrones series. The sub-objective is to create a coherent framework of the new trend in tourism, which is film tourism, and to show how it can be used as a marketing tool to attract visitors to a given location.
