Anotácia:

Magisterská diplomová práce se zabývá zobrazením postižených postav v Americ-kých filmech. Práce se zabývá třemi filmy, konktrétně Avatar (2009), Než jsem tě po-znala (2016) a Petr Pan (2003). První část přestavuje historii postižení a disability studies. Další část textu se věnuje analýze jednotlivých filmů, každý film je nejdříve přestaven, popsán děj filmu a posléze analyzován. Poté porovnání zobrazení mezi filmy. Na konec jsou rozebrány společné vlastnosti, které se promítli do všech zobra-zení i přesto, že jsou filmy od sebe velmi odlišné.

Abstract:

This master´s diploma thesis deals with the cultural representation of disabled char-acters in American films. The thesis works with three films, specifically the films Av-atar (2009), Me before you (2016) a Peter Pan (2003). The first part introduces the history of disability and disability studies. The next part of the thesis is dedicated to the film analyses, each film is at first introduced, then the plot is described and then the film is analysed. After, the characters are compared to each other. Lastly, there is the analysis of the common traits in all representations.
