Monopolies in the Theory and Practice

Abstract:

Ve své diplomové práci se zabývám problematikou monopolů. Zaměřuji se na ně jak z teoretické oblasti tak i z pohledu jak fungují v praxi. Celou práci mám rozdělenou na tři velké části. První a druhá část obsahuje teoretické znalosti jak monopoly vznikají. Podstatou každého podniku je samozřejmě dosažení zisku a i monopol si musí stanovit takové ceny, aby byl zisk co největší. Vzhledem k tomu, že je to jediný hráč na trhu, musí vzít v úvahu i schopnost zákazníků cenu zaplatit. Z teoretického hlediska zde rozebírám formy diskriminace, které monopol používá k dosažení nejvyššího zisku. V neposlední řadě poukazuji na prostředky vedoucí k regulaci nepříznivého dopadu působení monopolu na tržní prostředí. Třetí část se zaměřuje na firmy a instituce, které v České republice jako monopoly vystupují. Zaměřuji se na jejich činnost, cenovou diskriminaci a jejich státní regulaci. Zkouším se zamyslet, zda by vstup konkurence v dané oblasti působnosti, byl přínosem či nikoliv. V závěru konstatuji, že ztráta monopolu u státních institucí je z mého pohledu nereálná a spíše se musíme zaměřit na zlepšení systému stávajícího, aby svou činnost vykonávaly efektivněji. U České pošty uvidíme jak se konkurence s trhem popere v roce 2013, kdy jí bude umožněn vstup na trh.

Abstract:

In his diploma thesis deals with the issue of monopolies. I focus on them from both a theoretical and from the perspective of how they work in practice. All the work I have divided into three parts. The first and second part contains a theoretical knowledge of how monopolies arise. The essence of any business is profit , of course, even a monopoly must set a price to maximize profit . Since it is the only player on the market must take into account customers' ability to pay the price . From a theoretical point of view are analyzed forms of discrimination which monopoly used to achieve the highest profit . Finally, point out the means for regulating the adverse impact on the effect of monopoly market environment. The third section focuses on companies and institutions in the Czech Republic stand out as monopolies, I focus on their activities, price discrimination and state regulation. Trying to consider whether the entry of competitors in a given scope, was beneficial or not. Finally, note that the loss of the monopoly of state institutions is , in my view unrealistic and instead we must focus on improving the existing system to perform its work effectively. The Czech Post will show how the competitive market popery in 2013 , when she will be allowed to enter the market.
