Generations X, Y, Z and their correlation to work motivation

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se věnuje problematice pracovní motivace generací X, Y a Z. Hlavním cílem práce je analyzovat pracovní motivaci jednotlivých generací a na jejím základě formulovat doporučení pro zaměstnavatele o tom, jak motivovat své zaměstnance patřící do rozdílných generací. Vedlejším cílem práce je specifikovat nejvýznamnější faktory, jež mají vliv na oblast motivace zaměstnanců. Teoretická část práce je zaměřena na shrnutí teoretických východisek, které se pojí s charakteristickými znaky zmíněných generací. Také obsahuje definici motivace, seznámení s motivačními teoriemi a vybrané motivátory v pracovním prostředí. Praktickou část diplomové práce tvoří podrobnější popis metod a získávání dat a také samotný kvantitativní výzkum. Ten je proveden prostřednictvím dotazníkového šetření. Na základě výsledků výzkumu je možné formulovat výše zmíněná doporučení a naplnit tak cíle diplomové práce.

Abstract:

The thesis is focused on the issue of work motivation among generations X, Y and Z. The main aim of the thesis is to analyze the work motivation of individual generations and, based on the analysis, formulate recommendations for employers on how to motivate their employees who belong to different generations. The secondary objective of the thesis is to specify the most significant factors that influence employee motivation. The theoretical part of the thesis summarizes the theoretical background related to the characteristic features of the mentioned generations. It also includes the definition of motivation, an introduction to motivational theories, and motivators in the work environment. The practical part of the thesis consists of a detailed description of methods and data collection, as well as the quantitative research itself. The research is conducted through a questionnaire survey. Based on the research results, the above-mentioned recommendations can be formulated, thereby achieving the objectives of the thesis.
