Communication barrier during integration of the deaf into the working process

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce Komunikační bariéra při integraci neslyšících do pracovního procesu se zabývá analýzou komunikačních možností neslyšících při získávání zaměstnání. Teoretická část zahrnuje vymezení a klasifikaci sluchového postižení. Dále se zabývá komunikačními systémy sluchově postižených, verbálními a neverbálními prostředky, zásadami při komunikaci se sluchově postiženými. Popisuje možnosti vzdělávání od předškolního věku po studium na vysoké škole a nastiňuje možnosti pracovního uplatnění. Předmětem praktické části je výzkum zaměřený na neslyšící členy Svazu neslyšících a nedoslýchavých ČR ze základních organizací v Ústeckém kraji. Výzkum je cíleně zaměřen na neslyšící členy, protože ti jsou více omezeni v možnostech komunikovat s intaktní společností. Cílem této práce je navrhnout řešení pro minimalizaci komunikační bariéry neslyšících.

Abstract:

This BA dissertation called ?Communication barrier during integration of the deaf into the working process? analyses options of communication of the auditory disabled while applying for a job. The theoretical part includes types and classification of the hearing loss disability. Further, it reviews communication methods and systems of the hearing impaired. It deals with both verbal and non-verbal tools of the auditory disabled as well as the principles and guide-lines for communication with individuals affected by hearing loss. Subsequently, it deals with educational options ranging from pre-school to university while it introduces several ways of career development and work placement. The practical part includes research focusing on the deaf members of the Union of the Deaf and the Hearing Impaired CR from the establishments in the Ustecky region. The focal point of the research are maily the deaf members as they are more severely restricted in their options of communication with the ?hearing? world. The aim of this dissertation is to find answers, and to suggest solutions to minimize the burden of the communication barriers for the deaf members of our society.
