Multiplatform mobile app using Kotlin Native

Abstract:

Cílem této práce bylo zhodnotit vhodnost použití technologií Kotlin-Native, Android XML a Swift UI k vývoji aplikace IVY assistant pomáhající při léčbě neplodnosti. Součástí práce je porovnání zmíněných technologií s konkurenčními technologiemi. Při vývoji rozšíření aplikace IVY assistant na celý proces léčby neplodnosti byly popsané technologie vyzkoušeny, díky čemuž bylo možné zhodnotit jejich přínosy a vhodnost použití v kontextu praktické aplikace. Konkrétně se ukázalo, že Kotlin-Native, na kterém je postavena stávající verze aplikace, by byl možný nahradit technologií Xamarin, avšak za cenu doplnění znalosti jazyka C#. V části projektu, kde se používá technologie Android XML, bych doporučila vyzkoušet nový Jetpack Compose a o následném rozšíření na celý projekt rozhodnout na základě zkušeností z vývoje. Pro iOS doporučuji nadále využívat SwiftUI.

Abstract:

This thesis aimed to evaluate the suitability of using Kotlin-Native, Android XML, and Swift UI technologies for the development of the IVY assistant application that helps with infertility treatment. Part of the work is a comparison of referenced technologies with competitive technologies. When developing the extension of the IVY assistant application to the entire infertility treatment process, the described technologies were tested, thanks to which it was possible to evaluate their benefits and suitability for use in the context of practical application. Specifically, it turned out that Kotlin-Native, on which the current version of the application is built, could be replaced by Xamarin technology, but at the cost of supplementing knowledge of the C# language. In the part of the project where Android XML technology is used, I would recommend trying the new Jetpack Compose. The decision on the subsequent extension to the entire project can be taken based on development experience. For iOS, I recommend continuing to use SwiftUI.
