Do firearms belong to the public?

Abstract:

Primárním cílem mojí diplomové práce je představení současných legislativních úprav zvolených zemí (Česká republika, Švýcarsko, Velká Británie a Georgie – USA).Práce komparuje především právní úpravu jednotlivých států k ČR. Obsahem této práce je též statistická část, která je zaměřena na držení střelných zbraní, porovnání statistiky úmrtí na střelné zbraně, ale i celkových počtů násilných smrtí. Statistická část práce nám též udává přehled o legálně vlastněných a registrovaných střelných zbraních v jednotlivých zemích, ale také o četnosti úmrtí spojených jak se střelnými zbraněmi, tak jinou násilnou smrtí. Snahou této části práce je tedy pomocí statistiky odpovědět, která z vybraných zemí se s otázkou nabývaní, nošení a držení zbraní vypořádala nejlépe a přispět tak k veřejné debatě o zbraních.

Abstract:

Primary goal of my theses is to itroduce contenporary legislative regulations of Czech Republic; Switzerland; Great Britain; Georgia. These countries were choosen for their relative demographic similarities except Great Britain.Theses compare first of all the legislative of particular state compared with ČR. The part of these theses is also the statistical part concentrated on gaining, holding and carrying firearms in single countries, but also about the number of deaths connected with firearms, but also with other violent deaths. The aim of this part of these theses is to answer by means of statistics which country is the best in gaining, holding and carrying the weapons, and so to contribute to the public debate about the weapons especially thanks to recent incidents in USA that resonates all over the world.
