Abstract:

Tato disertační práce se zabývá otázkou, jak může podniková sociální síť (ESN) podpořit spolupráci na úrovni týmu a zda tato lepší spolupráce ovlivňuje úspěšnost projektů v projektové organizaci. V době, kdy digitální transformace ovlivňuje organizace napříč všemi odvětvími, je schopnost efektivní spolupráce důležitější než kdy dříve. ESN nabízejí platformu, která nejen usnadňuje komunikaci a spolupráci v rámci týmů, ale má také potenciál překonat tradiční hranice organizačních struktur. Význam této problematiky vyplývá z rostoucí potřeby agilního a flexibilního pracovního prostředí v projektech, které splňují požadavky moderního podnikatelského prostředí. Navzdory zřejmým výhodám, které ESN nabízejí, zůstává výzkum jejich skutečného vlivu na týmovou dynamiku a úspěšnost projektů poměrně neprozkoumaný. Tento článek řeší tuto mezeru ve výzkumu analýzou vlivu ESN na spolupráci v rámci projektových týmů a jejich dopadu na úspěšnost projektu. Teoretickým rámcem je teorie adaptivního strukturování (AST). AST poskytuje cenný přístup k pochopení toho, jak jsou technologické nástroje, jako je ESN, přizpůsobovány a využívány v rámci organizací k ovlivňování struktur spolupráce a komunikace. Aplikací AST na ESN v kontextu projektové práce je možné získat hlubší vhled do interakcí mezi technologickými artefakty a organizačními procesy. Tento přístup umožňuje identifikovat podmínky, za nichž mohou ESN účinně podporovat spolupráci, a přispívat tak k úspěchu projektu. Za účelem zkoumání vlivu ESN na spolupráci na úrovni týmu a na úspěšnost projektu byl proveden průzkum mezi zaměstnanci jedné projektové organizace. K analýze dat z průzkumu byla použita metoda modelování strukturálních rovnic metodou nejmenších dílčích čtverců (PLS-SEM). Tato metoda je vhodná zejména pro analýzu složitých vztahových struktur, jako jsou ty, které existují mezi používáním ESN, týmovou kolaborací a úspěšností projektu. PLS-SEM umožnila vytvořit dvoustupňový hierarchický model, v němž bylo nejprve analyzováno stabilní využívání ESN v týmech. V dalším kroku byl k modelování vlivu ESN na úspěšnost projektu použit konstrukt vyššího řádu (HOC). Výsledky analýzy PLS-SEM poskytují cenné poznatky o mechanismech, jejichž prostřednictvím mohou ESN podporovat spolupráci v projektových týmech a přispívat tak k úspěchu projektů. Kromě teoretických poznatků a empirických zjištění poskytuje tato disertační práce cenné praktické rady pro úspěšný návrh a implementaci podnikových sociálních sítí (ESN) v organizacích. Tento aspekt je obzvláště důležitý, protože společnosti často vynakládají značné investice do zavedení a údržby ESN. Tyto investice zahrnují nejen finanční výdaje na software a jeho integraci do stávajících informačních systémů, ale také investice.

Abstract:

This dissertation is dedicated to the question of how an Enterprise Social Network (ESN) can promote collaboration at team level and whether this improved collaboration influences the success of projects in a project organization. At a time when digital transformation is affecting companies in all industries, the ability to collaborate effectively is more crucial than ever. ESNs offer a platform that not only facilitates communication and collaboration within teams, but also has the potential to overcome the traditional boundaries of organizational structures. The importance of this issue stems from the growing need for agile and flexible working environments in projects that meet the demands of the modern business environment. Despite the obvious benefits that ESNs offer, research into their actual impact on team dynamics and project success remains relatively unexplored. This paper addresses this research gap by examining the effects of ESNs on collaboration within project teams and their impact on project success. The theoretical framework is Adaptive Structuration Theory (AST). AST provides a valuable approach for understanding how technological tools, such as an ESN, are adapted and used within organizations to influence the structures of collaboration and communication. By applying AST to ESNs in the context of project work, it becomes possible to gain deeper insights into the interactions between technological artefacts and organizational processes. This approach makes it possible to identify the conditions under which ESNs can effectively promote collaboration and thus contribute to project success. In order to investigate the effects of ESN on collaboration at team level and project success, a survey was conducted among the employees of a project organization. The Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) method was used to analyze the survey data. This method is particularly suitable for investigating complex relationship structures, such as those that exist between the use of ESN, team collabo-ration and project success. PLS-SEM made it possible to create a twostage hierarchy model in which the stable appropriation of ESN within the teams was examined first. In the next step, a Higher Order Construct (HOC) was used to model the impact of ESN on project success. The results of the PLS-SEM analysis provide valuable insights into the mechanisms through which ESNs can promote collaboration in project teams and thus contribute to the success of projects. In addition to the theoretical insights and empirical findings, this dissertation provides valuable practical advice for the successful design and implementation of Enterprise Social Networks (ESN) in organizations. This aspect is of particular importance as companies often make considerable investments in the introduction and maintenance of ESNs. These investments include not only the financial outlay for the software and its integration into existing IT systems, but also the investment in user adoption, training and change management.
