Population Ageing in Russia

Abstract:

Stárnutí populace je celosvětovým trendem, který bude mít stále větší vliv na ekonomický vývoj zemí. Ruskou federaci bude tento problém v blízké budoucnosti výrazněji ovlivňovat, ale přitom mu není věnována odpovídající pozornost odborné veřejnosti. Diplomová práce si klade za cíl shrnout vývoj populace Ruska od 90. let 20. století po současnost, popsat dosavadní populační politiku Ruské federace a uvést návrhy na její zlepšení. Práce uvádí výčet příčin současného demografického vývoje, porovnání specifik stárnutí ruské populace v kontextu jiných stárnoucích zemí a predikci budoucího vývoje země.Diplomová práce se dělí na tři kapitoly. První kapitola se věnuje demografii, vysvětlení demografických termínů a ukazatelů. Ve druhé kapitole je popsán současný stav populace a problémy spojené se stárnutím populace. Poslední kapitola se věnuje řešení dopadů stárnutí populace. Nejprve kapitola uvádí současná demografická opatření ruské vlády, očekávaný vývoj populace a na závěr návrhy na zlepšení demografické politiky státu.Na základě provedené analýzy demografických dat a zhodnocení prováděných demografických politik lze konstatovat, že Rusko se v budoucnosti nebude potýkat pouze se stárnutím populace ale také s výrazným úbytkem počtu obyvatel, čímž se budou prohlubovat ekonomické problémy země a následně i zhoršovat její geopolitické postavení ve světě.

Abstract:

Population ageing is a global trend that will increasingly affect the economic development of countries. This problem will have a significant impact on the Russian Federation in the nearest future, although the expert public has not been paying adequate attention to it.The aim of this thesis is to summarize the development of the Russian population from the 1990s to the present, to describe the current population policy of the Russian Federation and to make suggestions for its improvement. The thesis lists the causes of current demographic development, compares the specifics of the Russian population ageing in the context of other ageing countries and predicts the future development of the country.The thesis is divided into three chapters. The first chapter is devoted to demography, explanation of demographic terms and indicators. The second chapter describes the current state of the Russian population and problems associated with population ageing. The last chapter is devoted to solving the impacts of population ageing. Firstly, this chapter presents the current demographic measures of the Russian government, afterwards the expected development of the population and finally proposals for improving the demographic policy.By analysing demographic data and demographic policies of the Russian Federation, I came to the following conclusion. In the future, the country will not only face problem with its aging population but also with its significant population decline, which will intensify the country's economic problems and consequently worsen its geopolitical position in the world.
