Abstract:
The bachelor thesis deals with the person and work of Arnold Peter Weisz-Kubínčan, who was born in 1898 and died probably in 1944 in a concentration camp. This Slovak painter with a tragic fate and a very emotional and dynamic expression in his work has only re-cently been recognised as one of the important figures of Slovak modern art. Bakalárska práca sa zaoberá osobou a dielom Arnolda Petra Weisz-Kubínčana, ktorý sa narodil v roku 1898 a zomrel pravdepodobne v roku 1944 v koncentračnom tábore. Tento slovenský maliar s tragickým osudom a veľmi emotívnym a dynamickým prejavom vo svojej tvorbe bol len nedávno rozpoznaný ako jedna z dôležitých postáv slovenského moderného umenia.
