Involvement of spectator in science fiction. Neoformalist analysis of The Man from Earth
Abstract:
Bakalářská práce představuje analýzu filmu amerického filmaře Richarda Schenkmama, Pozemšťan (2007). Využíváním přístupu neoformalistické analýzy dokazuje, že se snaží ozvláštňovat konvenční prostředky vyprávění, stylu a žánru tím, že vykazuje nejednoznačný postoj ke klasickému narativu i žánru science fiction a silně propojuje diváka s děním ve filmu.
Abstract:
The bachelor thesis introduces an analysis of the film by American filmmaker Richard Schenkman, The man from Earth(2007). It proves, by applying the approach of neoformalist analysis, that it tries emphasizing the unique conventional means of storytelling, style and genre, that it has an unclear attitude to classical narrative and genre of science fiction and strongly connects the viewer with the events …more
