Abstract:

Tato práce pojmenovaná Efektivita m-learningových aplikací při akvizici angličtiny si klade za cíl zjistit, jak efektivní jsou mobilní aplikace při akvizici angličtiny. Teoretická část se zabývá akvizicí druhého jazyka a faktory, které tento proces ovlivňují, mobile learningem a dosavadním výzkumem, který se zabývá mobilními aplikacemi při akvizici angličtiny. Dále představuje nejběžnější mobilní aplikace používané při akvizici angličtiny. V praktické části je 30 studentů rozděleno do tří desetičlenných skupin. Tito studenti vyzkoušejí různé metody učení se anglické slovní zásoby a výslovnosti. Po učení jsou ověřeny znalosti slovní zásoby a výslovnost daných slovíček a studenti vyplní dotazník týkající se metody, kterou vyzkoušeli. Analýza výsledků ukazuje, že Quizlet není efektivnější než tradiční metody učení se slovní zásobě a že kartičky v Quizletu s více charakteristikami nejsou efektivnější než kartičky s menším počtem charakteristik. Studenti nicméně preferují moderní metody v učení se slovní zásobě a kartičky s více charakteristikami v učení se výslovnosti

Abstract:

This thesis titled Efficiency of M-learning Applications in English Language Acquisition aims to discover how efficient mobile applications are in English acquisition. Theoretical part is concerned with second language acquisition and the factors that affect this process, mobile learning and the existing research concerning mobile applications in English acquisition. It also introduces the most popular mobile applications used in English acquisition. The practical part divides 30 students into three groups of ten. These groups try different methods of vocabulary and pronunciation learning and their knowledge is evaluated and their perception is recorded after the learning period. The analysis of the results shows that mobile application Quizlet is not more efficient than traditional methods in vocabulary learning and that Quizlet flashcards with multiple features are not more efficient than the flashcards with less features. However, the questionnaire analysis shows that the new and interactive methods are perceived more positively by the students compared to traditional methods.
